Dominican is migrating from a ROLM to Microsoft Teams-based phone service. This change will affect users who have a Dominican phone number. The switch to Teams will happen on a rolling basis depending on your department, college, or area of Dominican. You will be provided more detailed information as your migration date draws near.
When you're already on a call, you might want to add someone new and create a group call.
You can forward calls to another number or Teams member, or ring another number at the same time as your work number.
During a Teams call, you can take many actions. Here are a few common scenarios listed.
Call group members can receive calls on your behalf. Once created, you can use the forwarding instructions in the previous section to have calls forwarded to your call group.
Calls are a quick way to connect in Teams. You can have one-on-one calls or calls with several people. Set them up ahead of time, like in a meeting, or start them on the fly while in a chat.
The Poly CCX 350 desk phone supports making and receiving calls through Microsoft Teams, but it is not required to use Teams Calling. Desk phones will be assigned to certain community members based on their job responsibilities and available inventory.
Use the People App to organize, add, create, view, and edit contacts.
In Teams, you can combine (or merge) calls in a couple of different ways.
To reduce the amount of data used in video calls and meetings on your mobile device, you can change a setting in the Teams mobile app to limit the amount of data used on your device.
The Poly CCX 350 desk phone supports making and receiving calls through Microsoft Teams, but it is not required to use Teams Calling.
Quiet time is a scheduled setting that silences Teams notifications on your mobile device(s) during certain times or days. Set a quiet time schedule to stay focused while you work or unplug while you’re away.
Review your call history and voicemail
You can pick someone in Teams to be your delegate—a person who can receive and make calls on your behalf. When you add a delegate, you’re essentially sharing your phone line with them, so they can see and share all of your calls.
If you want your incoming calls to ring you and someone else (such as a delegate) at the same time, you can set that up in Teams.
Set a status message in Teams to let others know what you're up to! Whether you're out of office or simply want to share a message for your contacts to see, status messages are a great way to communicate.
Teams Phone Mobile keeps you connected effortlessly, no matter where you are. With your Teams number, you can answer calls and switch between devices seamlessly. Your cellular device shares a single number with the Teams app, so any call to your Teams account rings on all devices where you’re logged in. When you answer, your Teams status will automatically update to In a call.
