Adobe Creative Cloud

Creative Cloud is a collection of 20+ apps for photography, video, design and web production. Anyone wishing to use Adobe Creative Cloud software can access it in the following locations on campus:

  • The Innovation Center (first floor of the Rebecca Crown Library)

  • On the six Macintosh computers in The Technology Center (Lewis Hall, Lower Level)

Note that in order to use Creative Cloud, a user must first have an account with Adobe.com.
To create a free account:

  1. Go to https://adobe.com

  1. Click the “Sign In”

  1. Click “Create an Account”

  1. Users will be asked to enter their email address, provide first and last name and to create a password.

Students who are currently majoring in Graphic Design, Digital Cinema, or Web Design are automatically provided with a named-user Creative Cloud license. The named-user Creative Cloud license enables access to Creative Cloud software in select classrooms on campus, as well as allowing the license-holder to install and run Creative Cloud software on their personal devices. Upon enrollment in the named-user license program, students will receive a welcome message from Adobe which includes instructions for setting up their account.

Important Note: The named-user license is connected to the student’s DU email address. For users with existing Adobe.com accounts that DO NOT use their DU email address, this will mean creating and using a new Adobe.com account that uses their DU email address for sign-in.

State of Illinois - Drive-Up WiFi Map

With students across the state now displaced and many needing reliable broadband access to fully engage in e-learning, the State-of-Illinois Drive-Up Map provides users with the following information for each WiFi hotspot: general instructions for using; specifics for logging in; and turn-by-turn driving directions via Google Maps. The State-of-Illinois Drive-Up Map can be found here: www.ildceo.net/wifi

(Home Internet): All AT&T home internet wired customers and Fixed Wireless Internet, can use unlimited internet data. Additionally, AT&T will continue to offer internet access for qualifying limited income households at $10 a month through their Access from AT&T program. For more information, visit https://about.att.com/pages/COVID-19.html.

(Internet Essentials): New Internet Essentials customers will receive two free months of Internet service if you apply and are approved by December 31, 2020. After promotion, regular rates apply. For all new and existing Internet Essentials customers, the speed of the program’s Internet service has increased to 25 Mbps downstream and 3 Mbps upstream.

  • Households with outstanding debt owed to Comcast may be eligible for Internet Essentials. We are waiving this qualification if you apply and are approved by 12/31/20. After 12/31/20, standard eligibility rules apply.

More information is available at https://www.internetessentials.com/covid19.

(WiFi Access): WiFi public access points are available for public use at no cost and with no contract required. Current Comcast customers will have no data caps during this time. Data speeds are also being upgraded from 15/2Mbps to 25/3Mbps. To find a Comcast access location, please visit: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/open-xfinity-wifi-hotspots

Hotspot Connection Instructions: Once at a hotspot, select the ‘xfinitywifi’ network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser. Xfinity Internet customers can sign in with their username and password, and they will be automatically connected at Xfinity WiFi hotspots in the future. Non-Xfinity Internet subscribers should visit the ‘Not an Xfinity Internet Customer’ section on the sign-in page to get started. Non-customers will be able to renew their complimentary sessions every two hours.

If you are prompted for a password or other login credentials, then you are attempting to access an Xfinity WiFi hotspot that is located in a home, not in a business or outdoor location. This hotspot is not part of the free Xfinity WiFi access program.
