INFORMATION FOR USING THE TELEPHONE

To make an on-campus phone call: Dial the last 4 digits of the telephone number.

Check Voicemail - Listen to a Message:

  • If there is a red blinking light, push the Message Waiting button at the top left of your phone OR you can dial 6998-Main Campus.
  • Enter your four digit extension (Example: 6888) and “#”.
  • Enter your password (the password is temporarily set as your 4 digit extension) and “#”.

Push “3” to listen to messages

  • Push “6” after you have listened to messages to DELETE messages
  • Push “4” to SAVE messages
  • To listen to the message AGAIN, press “7” and then press “3”

To Record a Greeting to be heard by people who call you:

  • Push the Message Waiting button at the top left of your phone OR dial ext. 6998-Main Campus, or 9123-Priory Campus.
  • Enter your four digit extension (Example: 6888) and “#”.
  • Enter your password (the password is temporarily set as your 4 digit extension) and “#”.
  • To put your name on your message, enter “8” then “4”. At the beep say your name, push “*”, and then push “#”.
  • To create a greeting, (Example: This is John. I’m not here right now. Please leave a message.) push “8”, then push “1”, push “1” again, and push “1” again. Say your greeting, push “*”, and then push “#”.

To change your password:

  1. Log into the voicemail system. (See numbers 1-3 above.)
  2. Press “9” for mailbox options.
  3. Press “3” to change your original password.
  4. Enter your new 5 digit password, then press “#”. The system will verify your new password.

MAKING OFF CAMPUS TELEPHONE CALLS

To make any off-campus telephone calls from an office phone dial 7 + the number.

Our phone system voice messages are not backed up.  Do not use the voice message system to store important information.  Be sure to write done important numbers or store them in your outlook contacts, which is our email system that is backed up every night.  Or for important messages, make a separate recording and store that. 

911 Calls
All 9-1-1 calls made from a campus phone will be answered by the Village of River Forest Police Department’s Public Safety Answering Point.
