How Do I Join a Zoom Meeting?


You can join a Zoom meeting in a few different ways:

Emailed Invitation:

  1. Open the meeting invitation.
  2. Click the "Join Meeting" link (example below).

  3. The Zoom Client will launch and join the meeting.

Note: If you do not already have the Zoom app on your computer or phone, you will be prompted to download and install Zoom.

From the Zoom Client (Desktop or Mobile)

Option 1 (preferred)

  1. Start the Zoom Client app.
  2. Sign in to Zoom.
  3. Select the "Meetings" tab in the app.
  4. You will see a list containing all of the Zoom meetings that you have created or accepted invitations to.
  5. Select the desired meeting in the list.
  6. Click the "Start" button (if you are the meeting Host), or "Join" (if you were invited to the meeting as a Participant).

Option 2

  1. Start the Zoom Client app.
  2. Sign in to Zoom then click Join.
  3. Enter the meeting ID number (from the meeting invitation).>
  4. Click "Join".

Joining a Meeting from a Conference Room System:
With Zoom, you can join meetings from Dominican’s telepresence-enabled conference rooms (Mulroy Lounge, Lewis Lounge, LE047 and Priory 263). Be sure that you have your meeting ID. The meeting ID number can be found in your Zoom invitation message.

  1. On the touchpad, press "Call".
  2. Select "Favorites".
  3. Locate and select "zoomapps" and press again to call out to Zoom.
  4. Once the system has connected to Zoom, you'll be prompted to enter your meeting ID number.
  5. Using the touchpad, enter your meeting ID number, followed by the hashtag (#).
  6. The room system will be accepted into the meeting.

From a Phone (as a voice-only participant)

  1. In the meeting invitation, locate the telephone number and Meeting ID.
    (this is typically found under "Dial by your location" in a meeting invite.
  2. Dial the the telephone number.
  3. When prompted, enter the Meeting ID.
