Zoom Bombing Prevention (Keep Uninvited Guests Out of Your Meetings)

To prevent uninvited guests from appearing in your Zoom meeting we recommend the following.

  • Please be sure you are using our licensed version of Zoom verses the free personal trial. In addition, to ensure the privacy and security of your Zoom meetings, we recommend most meetings use the Waiting Room setting with the Guest Participants Only option turned on.
  • With the Waiting Room and Guest Participants Only settings turned on, only those who are logged in using their Dominican accounts will be let in to your meeting immediately. Non-DU guests or potential intruders will remain outside in the waiting room unless they are admitted by the meeting host. This will prevent unknown or unwanted participants from interfering with a meeting in progress.

To turn on the Waiting Room feature for your meetings:

  1. Log in to https://dom.zoom.us.
  2. On the left-hand side of the page, click on Settings.
  3. Click on In Meeting (Advanced) and scroll down the page to Waiting Room.
  4. Use the slider to turn the feature on.
  5. After turning Waiting Room on, the Guest Participants Only option will appear and should also be turned on.
