How Do I Install Zoom for Mac on My Personally-Owned or DU-Issued Macintosh Computer?

For all Mac users (with either a Dominican-issued or a personally-owned computer):

1. Download the Zoom Desktop Client

The Zoom client download page can be found here: https://zoom.us/download

From this page, download the Zoom client installer. Note that if you have a Mac with Apple Silicon chips, you will need to download the installer linked below the blue Download button. To find out if your Mac has Apple Silicon chips, see this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211814

2. Run the Zoom Client Installer

The installer will have been downloaded to your 'Downloads' folder. Navigate to your 'Recent Downloads' in the upper right corner of your web browser window (as shown below), and double-click on the Zoom installer to run it.

If your security settings prevent you from from running the installer, you may need to allow the installation of non-App Store apps in your Mac's settings. To do so, navigate to 'System Settings'. In the left-hand column, select 'Privacy & Security'. In the right-hand section, scroll down to the 'Allow applications downloaded from' option and select 'App Store and identified developers'.

Upon successfully running the installer, follow the on-screen instructions to completion. The installer's default options are fine for most users.

Close the installer, and the Zoom application will open automatically.

Zoom should now be installed on your Mac computer. For more guidance on how to use Zoom, check out our other articles covering Zoom here: https://support.dom.edu/TDClient/2074/Portal/KB/?CategoryID=13167 Or, visit the official Zoom support website: https://support.zoom.com/hc/en
