The Mastery Paths feature in Canvas allows instructors to create more customized learning experiences for their students based on student performance. As an example, rather than requiring an entire class to complete a series of assignments building towards one final project, Mastery Paths allows you to have some students bypass some of the assignments based on your assessment of an earlier assignment. It is, essentially, a combination of using the existing Canvas features of Modules with differentiated assignments. Here is a simple example of a scenario where MasteryPaths might be used:
MasteryPaths is currently enabled as an opt-in feature in Canvas. To enable it in your course site, head to the SETTINGS menu in your course and from the ensuing screen click the Feature Options tab. Finally, just click the toggle switch to turn MasteryPaths on:
To use MasteryPaths, you will ultimately have to use Modules. This is covered in the documentation linked below as well as the video underneath.
