About Astra

 

Astra is Dominican's online facilities request application. All faculty and staff have the ability to place a facilities request through Astra. Faculty and Staff may request a room for classes, meetings, video conferencing and events. Students are allowed to request facilities for events through a club or organization. Students also can request study spaces and view classrooms that are not being used. When a computer classroom is not in use, it is allowed to be used as a study space by students. Facilities requested through Astra, must be placed no later than 24 hours before the event. When requesting a facility for multiple recurring dates Astra will not process the request. The order must be placed manually by Scheduling and Event Services.

Information needed to make a request through Astra

*   Event name

*   Attendance

*   Type of event

*   Department

*   Contact name

*   Event date/s (have backup dates in mind)

*   Event time

*   Preferred Event location (have backup locations in mind)

*   Catering plans

*   A-V and other technology needs

*   Presence of alcohol 

*   Amount of additional parking needed beyond students/faculty/staff already on campus at event time.
