ROLM Phone and Voicemail Information

1.  To access voicemail from on campus - Main

Dial 6997. You can also dial 6996 to only leave messages, or 6998 to only retrieve messages.

2. To access voicemail from off campus - Main

Dial (708) 524-6997. You will be prompted to enter your extension (# XXXX#) and then the password (XXXX#). Then press 0, it will say you are at the “home state” from there:

• Press 3 to listen for messages.
• Press 7 to replay
• Press 6 to erase.

3. To access voicemail - Priory

On campus dial 9123. Of campus dial (708) 714-9123

4. To call voicemail extensions

Numbers beginning in 1 are voicemail only. To call these numebrs you must dial 6997 then follow the prompts.

5. Options to use when calling

Press *1

During a message to bypass the recording and leave a message.

6.  To change your ringing tone

1. Get dial tone.
2. Press *572
3. Press single digits (1 through 8) to hear various tone pitches. The last digit you press before you hang up will produce the ringing tone of your telephone.

7. To change your original password

1. Call the voicemail system to access your mailbox
2. Press 9 for mailbox options
3. Press 3 to change your original password
4. Enter your new five digit, password, then press #. The voicemail system verifies your new password.

8. To change the level of your prompts

1. Call the voicemail system to access your mailbox
2. Press 9 for mailbox options
3. Press 6 to change the level of your prompts. The voicemail system confirms if you now receive standard prompts or abbreviated prompts.
4. Press 2 to receive abbreviated prompts.
5. Press 1 to receive standard prompts.
6. Press # to continue to receive the same level of prompts you now receive.

 9. To record your name

1. Call the voicemail system to access your mailbox.
2. Press 8 for answering options .
3. Press 4 to change only the name in voicemail.

10. To record or change your regular greeting

You have two regular greetings and one alternate greeting. One greeting answers calls when you are away from the office (no answer greeting). The other greeting answers calls when you are on the telephone (busy signal greeting).

1. Call the voicemail system to access your mailbox.
2. Press 8 for answering options.
3. Press 1 for personal greetings.
4. Press 1 to change your regular greeting. The voicemail system plays your current greeting. If you want to skip to the end of your current greeting, press *2.
5. Press 1 to record a new greeting.
6. Record your greeting.
7. Press *73 to replay the greeting you just recorded.
8. Press *61 to delete and re-record the greeting.
9. Press *# to tell the system when you complete recording. Listen to your new greeting.
10. Press 4 to keep the current greeting.
11. Press 6 to change to the system greeting.

11. To record or change your alternate greeting

The third personal greeting is the alternate greeting. When you activate your alternate greeting, it answers all calls. This is useful, for example, when you are out of the office for a few days or more.

1. Call the voicemail system to access your mailbox.
2. Press 8 for answering options.
3. Press 1 for personal greetings.
4. Press 2 to change your regular greeting. The voicemail system plays your current greeting. If you want to skip to the end of your current greeting, press *2.
5. Press 1 to record a new alternate greeting.
6. Record your greeting.
7. Press *73 to replay the greeting you just recorded.
8. Press *61 to delete and re-record the greeting.
9. Press *# to tell the system when you complete recording. Listen to your new greeting.
10. Press 4 to keep the current alternate greeting.
11. Press 6 to change to the system greeting.

 12. To choose which greeting will answer your phone

1. Call the voicemail system to access your mailbox.
2. Press 8 for answering options.
3. Press 1 for personal greetings.
4. Press 3 to choose which greeting to answer your phone.
5. Press 1 for your regular greeting OR press 2 for your alternate greeting to answer your phone.

 13. Forwarding your line to voicemail

1. Pick up the phone and get a dial tone. Dial # 9 6 9 9 7 at the Main Campus and # 9 9 1 2 3 at the Priory Campus.
2. To take off forwarding pick up the phone and get a dial tone and dial # # 9.

 14. If your phone is out of order

Voicemail will still accept messages. You will not lose saved messages or greetings.

15. Options to use while listening to messages

Press 1 - When listening to a phonemail greeting to go directly to the tone to leave your message.

Press 2 - To skip forward from message header in progress to the next header.

Press *2 - To stop a message and skip forward to the next message header.

Press 3 - To override the message header in progress and proceed directly to the message.

Press *4 - To stop a message in progress and save it.

Press *6 - To stop a message in progress and delete it.

Press *73 - To stop a message and replay it from the beginning.

Press *77 - To stop a message and replay the message header with the time the message was created and the time it was received in your mailbox.

Press *98 - To stop a message in progress and skip forward 8 seconds.

Press *7# - To stop a message in progress and return to home state.
