Body
Yes, and students can sign up for an appointment slot on their own. This function is embedded in the Calendar application and will appear on the same dialog box that you use to create any other event in Canvas calendar. Detailed information with additional screen captures is included in the attached PDF at the bottom of this article should you want it, but the basic steps are as follows:
- Click the Calendar button that is on the far left navigation bar in Canvas.
- Next, click directly on a date in the calendar for which you would like to make your first group of signup appointments. You will then arrive at the dialog box shown below. We have numbered the areas to pay close attention to.
Once you click the Publish button at the bottom of this dialog box, you will no longer be able to edit any of the time slots.
As soon as you publish, an email will be sent out to your students automatically. To see what the students will see on their end, please check the following article, which shows the student's perspective: My instructor asked me to sign up for an appointment on Canvas. How can I do that?
When you go back into the Calendar, you can click on any appointment slot to see who has reserved it.
Consult the printable PDF immediately below for additional information and screen captures. There is also a guide available in Canvas' own documentation here: How do I add a Scheduler appointment group in a course calendar?
