Guidance on Read AI Usage - 4/15/2025

The IT department does not recommend the use of Read AI at this time, as the platform is not HIPAA compliant without specific licensing and configuration. Currently, Dominican University has neither purchased a license for Read AI nor configured the tool to meet compliance standards, and there are no immediate plans to do so.

The IT department does not recommend the use of Read AI at this time, as the platform is not HIPAA compliant without specific licensing and configuration. Currently, Dominican University has neither purchased a license for Read AI nor configured the tool to meet compliance standards, and there are no immediate plans to do so. 

As such, IT strongly advises users to opt out and stop Read AI recordings in any meeting where it is present. 

Please note: Each individual user must take action to disable Read AI on their own. Unfortunately, this cannot be managed by others or through centralized administrative controls. 

Recommended actions: 

• To fully disable Read AI and delete all data recorded from a meeting, type "opt out" in the meeting chat. 

• To stop Read AI from recording moving forward (while allowing a report to be generated from the portion already recorded), type "read stop" in the meeting chat. 

• The meeting host also has the ability to remove Read AI at any time. 

Please be aware that Read AI will announce its presence at the start of a meeting and will require host approval to proceed.
