Multifactor Authentication (MFA) Registration

Secure your DU account with two-step verification for your online credentials. Use the Microsoft Authenticator app to receive notifications on your smartphone or tablet to verify your identity when prompted for Multifactor Authentication.

Step 1. Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app

From your smartphone, visit the Apple app store or Google play store on your device and install the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Step 2. Add your DU account to the Authenticator app

  1. On your computer, visit https://aka.ms/mfasetup and login with your Dominican email address
  2. When prompted follow the wizard experience to setup the Microsoft Authenticator app

Scan the QR Code in the app to enroll your device. For more information, view the MFA setup video.

Once you have enrolled your device you have the option to select Either a push notification or a 6-digit code. (Push notification option is recommended)

Step 3. Change default sign-in settings to the Authenticator app

To ensure that you are prompted to sign-in using push notifications:

  1. Visit https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo 
  2. Select Default sign-in method > Change> Microsoft Authenticator – notification option.

Congratulations! You are now setup with the Microsoft Authenticator app and can receive notifications for multifactor authentication verification.
